Photo(s) of the Day!: People's Choice Award's Red Carpet

Finally, the 2011 awards season is here! I get so excited seeing all the glitz and the glam of Hollywood on the red carpet and even more excited about sharing that excitement with you! This year the People's Choice Awards seemed to be dominated by neutrals, blue, strapless dresses and all around fun shiny dresses. There were a lot to choose from but the looks below were by far my faves!

Look on and be inspired:

Kim Kardashian sparkled and shined in this metallic strapless by Catherine Maladrino. Accessorizing with a chain-inspired gold necklace and mirrored clutch this look creates a beautiful contrast with Kim's shiny dark updo and smoky eyes. Always a fan of neutrals, Kim shows the true way to looking ladylike and fashionable at the same time wearing trends in a classic silhouette.

Award show host Queen Latifah, glowed in this beautiful blue ombre full-length gown. Adorned with a jewel encrusted neckline, the colour and fit compliment the Queen perfectly, who typically wears strapless gowns. This look goes to show you that the key to looking glamorous and gorgeous is finding what works for you and sticking to it!

Royal blue is a colour that I have been feeling lately and it seems that David Meister thinks so as well as Kate Walsh shines in his strapless creation. With a ruffled skirt and asymmetrical pleats on the bodice, the cocktail dress stands out against the unconventional blue carpet. As a red head, Kate Walsh shows that the best way to flatter the auburn hue is with a beautiful contrast.

What were your favourite 'blue' carpet looks from the People's Choice Awards? Let me know in the comments, Facebook and Twitter!

Enjoy!

Red Carpet so Bright you have to Wear Shades

The beginning of a new year not only means fulfilling your New Years Resolutions but also enjoying the onslaught of award season. It is a chance to see how Hollywood's talented actresses interpret the designs of fashion's highest talent. The 2010 SAG Awards did not disappoint. Coming down the red carpet was a burst of bright saturated colours. Check it out!

ROYGBIV

Who knew that SAG Awards would bring out the bright side in Hollywood? Each of these stars show that if you want to stand out, colour is the way to go. Bright colours are one of the first things that I think of when choosing an outfit for it is one of the things that can take an outfit from drab to fab!

(Editor's Note: Although this bright red Marchesa Dress worn by Rebecca Gayheart is from the 2008 SAG Awards, I couldn't resist. The ruffle-y details that frame the corseted middle are absolutely beautiful.)
