Fashion is Not the Same Without A Little Competition

As fashionistas know there is always a little competition within the fashion industry. Whenever you read a magazine there are always photographs with celebrities attending a fancy event accompanied with the question, "Who Wore it Better?" so it is only fitting that the competition thing continues to thrive.

Anyone who has been a fan of CityTv must be familiar with one of Canada's television queens, Marilyn Denis. The former host of the lifestyle t.v. show, CityLine for 19 years and co-host of CHUM FM's morning radio show is heading back to the small screen with a brand new show called, The Marilyn Denis Show which she describes as a magazine coming to life.

Now before the show comes to air, the producers are looking for a set of regular on-air contributors to comment on lifestyle, relationships, fitness and FASHION! If you are interested in a career in television and fashion, the on-air contributor could be you! Click here for all the details.

The fun opportunities do not end there! The saucy and stylish channel, CosmoTV is having a Blogger Girl contest to look for a sassy blogger who can also vlog and blog about the hottest places in town, dating and most importantly, FASHION!

The three finalists will fly to Toronto for a luxurious weekend of styling, shopping and a guest appearance on Oh So Cosmo with the winner being the official CosmoTv blog correspondent for Toronto's LG Fashion Week. The contest ends October 15th. Click here for details and have fun!

Your my Obsession: Fashion Television celebrates it's 25th Anniversary!

For any Canadian fashionista, you are familiar with the '80's pop song 'Obsession' for it signifies non other than the legendary Canadian and longest running fashion show, Fashion Television. For years we have all enjoyed seeing Jeanne Beker make her way backstage between the most high profile haute couture shows and land the most coveted interviews.

Now, the show is celebrating it's silver anniversary with a momentous birthday bash to be held at CTV's downtown location at the famous Queen and John. Along with the soiree is to be the release of a commemorative magazine that documents the pinnacle and memorable moments of Fashion Television throughout their 25 stylish years.

Now if your invitation to the fashionable and fabulous gets lost in the mail, do not fret my friend because it will all be televised on CTV on September 12th, 2010 at 7pm.

Strike a Pose: Ford Models Super of the World Model Canada Contest

Have you gone through life always wanting to be a model? Have walked down the street and had people tell you that you would fit right in on the runway? Well here is your chance to see what it takes to get there, Canadian style!

Ford Models is hosting its Super of the World Model Canada Contest in search of the next 2009 Supermodel. This contest has crowned former Canada's Next Top Model host, Tricia Helfer in 1992 and Leanne Spencer in 1996.

The casting calls are over and the call backs have been made but fear not, you will be able to watch the twelve model finalists every Saturday at 8pm on CityTV starting September 5th. The winner will receive a $250,000 (US) modeling contract with Ford Models and the runner-ups will receive either $150,000 (US) or $100, 000 (US). 

Tune in for the premiere episode this Saturday and see who triumphs the modelling world!
